Now that we have left our parents house and are out on our own in this crazy world why don’t we have a little side bar and make Oppositeblog easier to access? Can we do that? I know I would find it easier to hop over to our wonderful readers digest page and I am sure other Opponaughts would feel the same way.
Similarly I think Formula Freak, our dicast page, and whatever other wonderful pages I am forgetting should be added into our related blogs sidebar.
I hope that all made since I have yet to have my coffee this morning.

It’d be cool to have sidebar links to the other smaller auto blogs. Like AMC, we will unite and merge in relative obscurity until the rest of the world has passed us by.
I'm a bit negative about this whole thing.

Actually just noticed that. Opposite Lock is not on the drop down ‘Related Blogs’ or ‘Blogs You May Like’ on the Jalopnik page while Jalopnik is on the Opposite Lock ‘Blogs You May Like’ drop down.
I only have the Opposite Lock shortcut on my home screen.
So screw you Jalopnik, I’m going to live with daddy (though I may pop in from time to time if that’s okay, cool, see you soon).

Same. I see why the change was made, and it’s not my site/servers/staff and I’m just a dipshit commenter but I’m still a bit sore. Nothing positive comes from this.

I’m sad that Oppo is separated from Jalopnik because they went hand in hand for a few years.
I’m also happy because since we’re semi-anonymous now, trolls from Jalopnik can’t find us as easily.

This is a good idea. I do wonder if it is possible as we’re under a Kinja URL, not a unique one like Jalopnik and its sub-blogs. I’ll ask around though and see if this can be made to happen.

Hey Steve, thanks for noticing this post. I don’t know if this is how the related blogs drop down is handled on the main Gawker pages but for Oppo the ideal way to manage it would probably be a manually curated list through the admin menu. Eg. Enter URL and the blog name shows up in the related blog menu. If you want to confer with Oppo’s admins about this idea, feel free to let me or one of the other moderators know.
On a related note, are those drop downs dynamic, putting the higher trafficked subblogs at the top of the list? I can’t say I’ve paid enough attention to the feature on the main pages to notice if the order changes.
